How-to guides

Everything you need to go from install to a shared household, in the order most families need it. Start anywhere — each guide stands on its own.

The guides

  • Getting started

Install on iPhone or Android — or open the browser version — create the account, set up the first profile, and meet the lock screen.

  • Setting up a household

Profiles, the four guardian roles, and what each one can see and do.

  • Inviting someone

Two walk-throughs, one for each direction: inviting a guardian into a profile you track on, and inviting the person a profile is about to log it herself.

  • Transferring ownership

Hand a profile to its subject's own account — a one-way move that keeps every entry's original attribution.

  • Logging a day

Flow, spotting, tags, and notes — plus how editing and deleting work.

  • Reading estimates

What the confidence labels mean, why a new profile shows no estimate yet, and what the irregular-cycles framing changes.

  • Moving your data

Bring history in from Clue or your health app, and take everything out as JSON, CSV, FHIR, or a PDF.

  • Using the browser version

What a browser keeps and clears, and how to share a computer safely.

Two things worth knowing first

lunarlog is built for sharing: an account is how a device joins the household and how a profile reaches the other people who care for it. And nothing leaves the device before that — you can start logging before you ever make an account, and decide later.

Whichever direction your family comes from — you tracking for yourself and inviting someone in, or someone setting a profile up for you — the guides treat both as equally normal, because both are. Neither one is the "real" way to use lunarlog.
